Long before Athena claimed the city for herself, an exhausted Greek came here and decided to build a temple to express his gratitude to Zeus for saving his life from the Great Flood. The project became a 600-year-long quest against time, as tyrants, kings, emperors, and architects struggled to pay an age-old debt to the king of the gods.
