Public life was especially important for the Romans. Their cities were always designed to include spaces where they could meet, chat or pray – one of which is the peristyle.

With the archaeological site in front of you and the ticket office at your back, walk straight ahead until you reach a railing. From this high position you will have a good view down onto the peristyle, which is a courtyard with columns, gardens and statues located at the back of the theatre.
