The Patounis’ Soap Factory is located in the same building since the family decided to establish a soap workshop in the town of Corfu in the late 19th century. The company produces the famous Corfiot green olive oil soap using olive oil and olive pomace oil, whose high chlorophyll content gives its product the characteristic colour. The building and its equipment are listed as industrial heritage monuments, while the soap manufacturing process is a living cultural tradition.
