With the Wine Gate behind you, head to the right where you will see a large castle, the Alcazaba. Go to the door of its wall located between the two great towers. There you must show your ticket to the guard and pass control. Follow the signs to the right and continue parallel to the wall that runs to your left. After zigzagging along a brief path, cross a door to enter a tower. Once you cross this passage, you’ll arrive in Arms Square. It is an open, spacious area.
3. Arms Square: Entrance to Alcazaba
The Alcazaba is Alhambra’s oldest part. It was built during Mohammed I’s reign and served as a military fortress. Arms Square was the primary entrance to Alcazaba.
