Τhe Clérigos complex was born straight out of the mind of Nicolau Nasoni. Served as a clock, a beacon, and a background for publicity stunts and declared a National Monument in 1910, Clérigos' church, hospital and tower have become unique examples of a Portuguese Baroque that broke away from tradition.
