Kerameikos: The “Elysian Fields” of Art

The preeminent public cemetery of ancient Athens, where illustrious politicians like Pericles were buried along with citizens, athletes and heroes. It is a 10-acre archaeological site surrounded by stunning nature under the Acropolis. It was a much-frequented and important place of ancient Athens, the starting place of the Panathenaic procession.
